Today we were very lucky to have a visitor from the Discovery Museum come to our classroom and talk about sound. We also did some really exciting activities that helped us learn some more about sound and how it works! Check out these sound scientists!
Are you looking for a good book to read? Check out our book reviews! We have so many great ideas and we are very convincing. We were excited to share our book reviews with our friends. We are so lucky to have such friendly, caring 3rd grade buddies! They surprised us with a nice drawing and gave us a blank sheet to pay it forward! We are learning all about the importance of paying it forward at Hardy School! What great role models our buddies are.
We are very excited spring is on the way! What a better way to start the warmer weather than the spring concert? Thank you to Mr. Hamm for putting this on and preparing our class for this fun event! Another big thank you to families who were able to attend, we were happy to see you there!
These 2 friends were very excited to share their hard math work! Writing numbers in order from 1 all the way to 100! How impressive!
! = excited voice ? = wondering voice . = regular voice We have been searching for clues that author's give us in books for how they want us to read their books. One clue we learned today was punctuation at the end. It can help us know how to read. We were able to read our books like actors and actresses just like the author wants. We even had our friends help direct us with our action and cut tool! What are other clues authors give us for how to read their books?
Today we got to hang out with our buddies and make a banner about what makes us feel lucky. We also did a fun craft and made a rainbow with a pot of gold. What would you do if you found a pot of gold?
Room 6 first graders are 100 days smarter today!! We had so much fun dressing up like we were 100 years old! We did all kinds of fun activities using the number 100. We even made 100 year old glasses! What would you be like if you were 100?!
We have finally begun our opinion writing unit! Everyone has brought in their collections that we are learning to judge fairly. We are trying our best to convince others. We want others to have the same opinion as we each do about our collections, deciding which piece comes 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th! Today we were acting as reporters on a tv show with our microphones to try our best to convince our buddies that they should agree with us using reasons and details to be specific! I wonder if we can convince you?!
